Free for all Friday 4-18-15

Just looked at the weekend weather and it appears Spring has finally sprung here in the north. Go outside. Plant some flowers/plants (if you can in your area, here they say not to plant until sometime in May...which is a bummer, where I used to live plants are already growing :(...).
Go to the park, if you're near one.(starting to get bummed so...)
I may go for a walk in the sun since it usually so rare here.
What ever you do enjoy it!
Next week will be fun!

Learning Curves

Another year older...but, am I wiser?
Yesterday,(sigh) was my B-day...
Yeah, I feel the same way, bleeh.
What have I learned in the past year?
I've learned most of the time I can count on my family and even though they show it in strange ways they support me(I'll explain at a later date) and somewhat believe in me.
I've learned people who say they are your friends and that they will be there, usually disappear.(especially when you are sick or down-on-your-luck)
I've learned I can still love, admire and be proud of an old friend.
I learn from a woman who has been married for over 40 years that “You don’t always have to like him, but, you have to love him”. Someday I hope I have a marriage like hers, not perfect but solid.
Maybe this year will bring Prince Charming, odds are not good but, as long as I believe and hope, who knows.
I've learned I have to love me no matter what and that means no matter what I weight or my size(hint at an upcoming blog).
A wise man said “Be not afraid. Only Believe”. He changed the world.
Let's Roll!

Tax Day! B-Day!

So, it's Tax Day...
BLRRAP!
I say that because it's also the day I was born, uh huh.
According to my mom I was supposed to be born on Earth Day.
Yup, either way, I was born for greatness(cough).
Nah.
Feel free to laugh if you're a true conservative.
If you are a liberal reading this, dunno...is it funny? Or is it sad that I missed Earth Day being my Birthday or was it, I wanted to celebrate the first Earth Day?
Today is the day we all give till it hurts. In an upcoming blog I'll tell you how I celebrated(wink).
So, I think I'll keep it short and sweet.
Go Celebrate with your favorite drink of choice whether it be Kool-Aid or soda or something that's for adults only.
Enjoy!

Oh, Bother! No Internet! But, I want to cook?

Life without the internet...
Oh, Bother!

Now, I can remember having to schlep to the library to get info.
I also can remember when we used cookbooks.
No Kindles...
No Nooks...
No iPads...
No Internet...
I could live without the 'luxury' of the internet but I've become very accustomed to whipping out the trust iPod touch whenever I need a recipe or whatever pops into my head...
So, Sunday when for whatever reason the internet at around 9am went poof (offline/down/buh bye)
I was flummoxed...
I wanted a bread recipe...oh, bother!
The joy of going to Google or Pinterest and typing simple quick Italian bread was not there and I was a bit lost.
I had to drag the cookbooks out and look for a quick simple Italian bread. I looked for awhile but eventually realized that this was not going to happen, between the search and most recipes needing 3+ hours, I didn't have enough time, it wasn't going to happen. I was left amazed at how it was no longer second nature to know, go to this book with the page marked for a quick simple Italian bread.
Am I going to give up my modern ways... no.
Am I going to be flagging pages in my cookbooks, possibly, at least I have plans, on some sunny day of sitting outside with post-its and flagging pages of an actual book.
And most definitely I will be printing out some of my favorite Pinterest ones, too.

I think a hard-copy backup of my favorite recipes might be a good idea...maybe, even put together in a scrapbook(rubbing hands with delight with a wicked laugh..time to go to the craft store...Yippee!)

Conspiracy? Theory?

I sometimes truly understand the minds of people who believe conspiracy theories.
Here are some I could believe
1-'gubmint'(sic) controls the Internets(sic)
2- 'gubmint' has ways of making people sick(ha, pun not intended but hehe snort)
Last week Rand Paul announced for president Yaaa! and I had a headache/migraine that could stop a train so I was pretty much, off the internet and missed our regularly scheduled blogs.
Yesterday, Clinton announced for president and wonder of wonders the internet disappeared(all the joys of no internet will be tomorrow's blog) right as she was announcing.
Talk about things that make you go hmm.
Now for my usual brain fart...

Yes, that was a moldy oldie from the 90's(I feel so old)(this video will figure in an upcoming blog).
But, do I believe that little ol' me is being targeted by the 'gubmint'. Nah, just needed to file today.
But, you never know do you?
Trust no one.
The truth is out there.
Or is it in here?

Stay tuned we're just getting started
